Originally from Northern Germany, with Finnish heritage, I’ve been living in Southern England, London, for over two decades years now, with stops in Helsinki, Saarbrücken, Montréal, Edinburgh, where I earned various degrees in Language, Literature, Translation & Conference Interpreting studies.
I have built a career and reputation as thought-leader in localisation and specifically machine translation (MT), computational linguistics and post-editing with global Language Service Providers SDL (now RWS) and Welocalize, where I headed the AI Operations team until 2024.
My roles spanned training translators and project managers in the adoption and use of MT/AI, deploying and evaluation several generations of MT/AI technologies, as well as consulting globally recognised brands from diverse industries such as leisure, automotive, manufacturing, technology and Life Sciences on their MT/AI implementation journey.
I have contributed to industry standards (post-editing, quality metrics), and presented work at industry events (Tekom, TAUS, GALA, EAMT, LREC).
In spring 2025, I started offering AI upskilling and consulting services on a self-employed basis. While I am happy to support customers around the world, my focus remains on EMEA, UK and DACH businesses.

As a consultant I support teams and organisations with their language AI adoption strategy, process design, change management, risk mitigation, and ensuring all stakeholders are brought along.
As a language AI educator, I create courses to upskill businesses in the responsible and methodical deployment of AI in their translation or multilingual content creation workflow.
