ITI's EX:CHANGE 2026

Lena Marh chairing panel discussion at ITI conference

Moderating the Client Engagement Panel

In 2025, Sara Robertson, CEO of the ITI, asked me if I wanted to join the conference advisory committee for the 2026 conference to celebrate the ITI’s 40th anniversary.

Together with Jo Durning and David Orrego-Carmona, we spent a year on shaping the Client Engagement track, two wonderful professionals to collaborate with – and a perfectly balanced representation of a translator, an academic and an industry expert.

Having worked between buyers and providers for two decades, this track felt like a natural topic to co-curate.

We were absolutely delighted to have Dr Jacqui Gratton (Freedom from Torture), Samuel Läubli (Supertext), Isabel Teodoro (Trustpilot) and Jennifer Vela Valido (Spotify) join us for a panel discussion on the challenges their organisations face, the opportunities they see with or despite genAI, what they expect from their translation service providers, and what they can do to support these same providers for more fulfilling and sustainable relationships.

It was a conversation dense in content and full of nuances, that was continued in the breakout sessions afterwards.  Plenty of food for though both for the audience and the panelists!
